Product Description

HPG is a core thickener and proppant carrier in hydraulic fracturing fluids. It crosslinks with boron to form a high-strength gel, making it a key chemical for shale gas and tight oil and gas development. In the food industry, it is widely used as a thickener and stabilizer in dairy products, beverages, and baked goods. Products are available in multiple grades, including oilfield fracturing grade, textile printing and dyeing grade, food grade, cosmetic grade, and refined/high-purity grade. Strict adherence to standards such as GB 2760, FCC, and JECFA is required. Small-batch trial orders and customized packaging are supported. Leveraging major ports such as Qingdao Port, Tianjin Port, and Shanghai Port, exports are efficient and hassle-free.

Cosmetic Grade: Thickener, humectant, film-former, conditioner for skin care, shampoos, toothpaste.
Refined/High Purity Grade: Lower impurities, lighter color, for premium food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical excipients.
Key Physical & Chemical PropertiesAppearance: White to light yellow powder, odorless or faint odor; Solubility: soluble in cold and hot water forming clear to translucent viscous solutions; insoluble in organic solvents; Aqueous solution: non-ionic, pH 6.0-8.0 (1% solution); Viscosity: up to several thousand mPa·s at 1% (25℃, typically 2000-6000 mPa·s); Crosslinking: forms crosslinked gels with boron, titanium, zirconium ions; Thermal stability and salt tolerance superior to unmodified guar gum.
Food Grade Specifications (GB 2760)Appearance: White to light yellow powder; Viscosity (1%, 25℃): ≥2000-5000 mPa·s; Moisture: ≤10%-12%; Ash: ≤0.5%-1.0%; pH (1% solution): 6.0-8.0; Protein: ≤2.0%; Arsenic (As): ≤3mg/kg; Lead (Pb): ≤2mg/kg; Total Plate Count: ≤5000CFU/g; E. coli: negative.
Industrial Grade SpecificationsAppearance: Light yellow powder; Viscosity (1%, 25℃): ≥3000-6000 mPa·s; Moisture: ≤10%-12%; pH (1% solution): 6.0-8.0; Water Insolubles: ≤3%-5%.
FeaturesModified for rapid dissolution in cold water (no heating required); Non-ionic, stable over wide pH range; Good salt tolerance; Excellent crosslinking capability with boron, titanium, zirconium ions; Superior thermal stability vs. unmodified guar gum; High viscosity with significant thickening effect; Food grade meets GB 2760 safety standards; Biocompatible and biodegradable.
Main ApplicationsOil & Gas Exploration (largest application) : Thickener, proppant carrier, fluid loss reducer for hydraulic fracturing fluids in shale gas, tight gas, conventional oil/gas; crosslinks with boron to form gels for improved proppant transport and fracture conductivity; drilling mud thickener and fluid loss reducer.
Food Industry: Thickener, stabilizer, emulsifier, suspending agent per GB 2760 for dairy (yogurt, ice cream), beverages (juice, plant protein drinks), bakery, condiments, frozen foods.
Textile & Dyeing: Sizing agent (improves yarn strength and abrasion resistance), printing paste thickener, fabric finishing agent.
Cosmetics/Personal Care: Thickener for shampoos, body washes, creams; humectant, film-former, conditioner, toothpaste thickener.
Paper: Pulp dispersant, surface sizing agent.
Others: Water treatment flocculant, mining flotation agent, refractory binder, daily chemicals, pharmaceutical excipients.

FAQ

Q1: Is Huafeng Chemical a manufacturer or a trader?
A: We are a professional service provider specializing in chemical foreign trade. Rather than being limited to the products of a single factory, we leverage the chemical industry cluster in Shandong Province to integrate production resources from multiple high-quality manufacturers. This allows us to offer a wide range of sourcing options—covering various product categories and origins—instead of simply pushing a single product. Furthermore, our core competitiveness lies in our professional foreign trade services (covering documentation, logistics, and regulatory compliance), ensuring a smooth and worry-free procurement process for you.

Q2: How is the security of my transaction guaranteed when working with Huafeng Chemical?
A: We strictly adhere to international trade rules (Incoterms® 2020) and accept various payment methods, such as Letters of Credit (L/C) and Telegraphic Transfers (T/T). For new clients, we support small-batch trial orders and can clearly define arbitration clauses and applicable laws within the contract. Additionally, we maintain a robust risk management system to help you mitigate common trade risks, such as exchange rate fluctuations, shipping delays, and document discrepancies.

Q3: Do you have experience serving clients in Russian-speaking regions?
A: Yes. We place great importance on the Russian-speaking market; our team includes Russian-speaking business professionals who are well-versed in the import regulations of Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). We understand the importance of EAC certification to clients in these regions and can assist with related compliance inquiries. We have established connections with chemical traders across various CIS countries and have gained valuable experience in specialized packaging and temperature-controlled shipping designed to withstand harsh local winter conditions.

Q4: How do you guarantee product quality?
A: We implement a strict supplier qualification and periodic audit system. A Certificate of Analysis (COA)—issued by the original manufacturer—is provided with every shipment. We also welcome pre-shipment inspections conducted by internationally recognized third-party agencies such as SGS, BV, or ITS. Should the test results fail to meet the standards specified in the contract, you have the right to reject the goods or request a replacement.
