Product Description

Compared to PAC, PFS treatment costs are typically 20%-30% lower, with faster floc settling and better effluent quality. The product is available in both solid (powder/granules) and liquid forms, and in both drinking water grade and industrial grade to meet the needs of different water treatment scenarios. The product strictly complies with the national standard GB/T 14591-2016, supports small-batch trial orders and customized packaging, and utilizes major ports such as Qingdao Port, Tianjin Port, and Shanghai Port for efficient and hassle-free export. As a Class 8 corrosive substance (UN3264), export requires a dangerous goods packaging certificate and MSDS, among other compliance documents.

Product Information

ItemDescription
Product NamePolyferric Sulfate (PFS)
CAS No.10028-22-5 (ferric sulfate)
EINECS No.233-072-9 (ferric sulfate)
Molecular Formula[Fe₂(OH)n(SO₄)₃₋ₙ/₂]ₘ (n<2, m=f(n))
AppearanceSolid: Light yellow to yellowish-brown powder or granules; Liquid: Reddish-brown viscous transparent liquid
Main TypesBy Form: Solid PFS (Powder/Granules) : Light yellow to yellowish-brown, easy to store and transport. Suitable for various water treatment applications. Liquid PFS (Reddish-brown) : Concentration 11%-13% (as Fe), ready to use. For large-scale water plant automated dosing. By Application Grade: Drinking Water Grade: Strict heavy metal control (arsenic, lead, mercury), for drinking water purification. Industrial Grade: For industrial wastewater treatment, municipal wastewater, industrial circulating water.
Key SpecificationsTotal Iron (as Fe) : Solid ≥19.0% (GB/T 14591-2016 premium grade), Liquid ≥11.0%. Basicity: 8%-16%. pH (1% solution) : 2.0-3.0. Reducing Substances (as Fe²⁺) : ≤0.15% (solid)/≤0.10% (liquid). Heavy Metal Limits (Drinking Water Grade) : As≤0.0005%, Pb≤0.001%, Hg≤0.00005%. Insolubles: ≤0.3%-0.5% (solid)/≤0.1%-0.2% (liquid).
Physical PropertiesDensity (liquid, 20℃): approx. 1.30-1.45 g/cm³; Bulk Density (solid): 0.8-1.1 g/cm³; Easily soluble in water, acidic solution; strong hydrolysis-flocculation and charge neutralization capability.
Mechanism of ActionPFS hydrolyzes in water to form polynuclear hydroxyl complexes and high-molecular-weight flocculants, which act through charge neutralization, adsorption bridging, and net capture to rapidly flocculate and precipitate suspended solids, colloidal particles, organic matter, and heavy metal ions. Compared with PAC, PFS offers superior phosphorus removal, decolorization and COD removal, especially effective in low-temperature water.
FeaturesHigh-efficiency coagulation with rapid floc formation and large dense flocs; superior phosphorus removal (≥95%); excellent decolorization (especially for textile/dyeing, paper wastewater); good low-temperature adaptability (remains effective below 4℃); wide pH range (4-11, optimum 6-9); low residual iron and good effluent color; lower dosage and cost (typically 20%-30% lower than PAC).
Main ApplicationsDrinking Water Treatment: removal of turbidity, color, suspended solids, iron, manganese and heavy metals. Municipal Wastewater: primary enhanced treatment, sludge dewatering conditioning, phosphorus removal. Industrial Wastewater (Core Application) : textile/dyeing wastewater (decolorization, COD removal), paper wastewater (SS, COD removal, decolorization), electroplating wastewater (heavy metals, cyanide), tannery wastewater, chemical wastewater, pharmaceutical wastewater, food processing, coal washing wastewater, mining wastewater, oily wastewater. Industrial Water Treatment: cooling water treatment, boiler feedwater pretreatment. Others: sludge conditioning, sugar refining clarifier, oilfield injection water treatment.
PackagingSolid: 25kg woven bags (PE liner), 500kg/1000kg jumbo bags; Liquid: 25kg drums, 200L plastic drums, 1000L IBC totes, tank trucks; custom packaging available.
Storage ConditionsStore in cool, dry, well-ventilated area; keep sealed; protect from moisture; away from alkaline substances; shelf life: 12 months (solid)/6 months (liquid).

FAQ

Q1: Is Huafeng Chemical a manufacturer or a trader?
A: We are a professional service provider specializing in chemical foreign trade. Rather than being limited to the products of a single factory, we leverage the chemical industry cluster in Shandong Province to integrate production resources from multiple high-quality manufacturers. This allows us to offer a wide range of sourcing options—covering various product categories and origins—instead of simply pushing a single product. Furthermore, our core competitiveness lies in our professional foreign trade services (covering documentation, logistics, and regulatory compliance), ensuring a smooth and worry-free procurement process for you.

Q2: How is the security of my transaction guaranteed when working with Huafeng Chemical?
A: We strictly adhere to international trade rules (Incoterms® 2020) and accept various payment methods, such as Letters of Credit (L/C) and Telegraphic Transfers (T/T). For new clients, we support small-batch trial orders and can clearly define arbitration clauses and applicable laws within the contract. Additionally, we maintain a robust risk management system to help you mitigate common trade risks, such as exchange rate fluctuations, shipping delays, and document discrepancies.

Q3: Do you have experience serving clients in Russian-speaking regions?
A: Yes. We place great importance on the Russian-speaking market; our team includes Russian-speaking business professionals who are well-versed in the import regulations of Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). We understand the importance of EAC certification to clients in these regions and can assist with related compliance inquiries. We have established connections with chemical traders across various CIS countries and have gained valuable experience in specialized packaging and temperature-controlled shipping designed to withstand harsh local winter conditions.

Q4: How do you guarantee product quality?
A: We implement a strict supplier qualification and periodic audit system. A Certificate of Analysis (COA)—issued by the original manufacturer—is provided with every shipment. We also welcome pre-shipment inspections conducted by internationally recognized third-party agencies such as SGS, BV, or ITS. Should the test results fail to meet the standards specified in the contract, you have the right to reject the goods or request a replacement.
